Terubok Masin is the best-known Sarawak specialty product: toli shad cleaned, salted and matured by the traditional method, then vacuum packed. It is bought as a gift item and as a menu staple, usually pan-fried and served with rice and chilli. Salted roe is packed separately when the season allows.
